報告題目：Scenario analysis for sustainable water resources management under future land use and climate change

專家簡介：Arash Malekian，伊朗德黑蘭大學教授，主要研究生態水文和水資源管理。在Google Scholar上為Watershed Science和Water Resources Systems兩個方向的高被引者。曾在美國、德國等國工作多年。擔任職務：Member of Iranian Academy of Sciences;Cluster Lead and Focal Point of SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation in International Association of Universities(IAU)- UNESCO.
報告簡介：Arid and semi-arid regions are particularly vulnerable to global environmental change because of their fragile climatic conditions. The rapid development of land use is expected to affect aquatic ecosystems in these regions. This study assessed the effects of both land use and climate change on water yield in a semi-arid basin in Urmia lake region, Iran,using the Integrated Valuation of Ecosystem Services and Tradeoffs model. The study region is a shrinking lake which experiences drying up due to unsustainable use of water resources, The results provide insight into possible sustainable development options and also provide guidance for managing the other Urmia Lake sub-basins, whereas the approach of integrated assessment of climate, land usechange, and land management options is also applicable in other conditions to helpinform sustainable management.
