At the invitation of Professor Yang Yongchun from the College of Earth and Environmental Sciences, Lanzhou University, the Key Laboratory of Western China’s Environmental Systems, Ministry of Education, and the Urban Planning and Design Institute of Lanzhou University. Meng Qingmin, Associate Professor of Department of Earth Sciences, Mississippi State University and Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Applied Geographygave an academic lecture entitled "A Thematic Mapping Approach to Insight into Urban Vulnerability" via the online platform on October 26th. About 70 teachers and students attended the lecture which was hosted by Professor Yang Yongchun.
The lecture provided profound insights into the study of urban vulnerability. After the report, many teachers and students had a thorough discussion with Professor Meng. This lecture stimulated everyone's strong interest in the study of social vulnerability, and the teachers and students benefited a lot.
