Reporter Profile:

Associate Professor Li Xingyuan serves at the School of Earth and Environmental Sciences, Lanzhou University. He completed postdoctoral research at the University of Regina, Canada, and was selected in 2024 for the Youth Science and Technology Talent Program of the Ministry of Natural Resources. He currently leads the Center for Health Geoscience and Dual-Carbon Technology at Lanzhou University.His research focuses on elemental geochemistry and soil carbon sequestration. In the past five years, he has published 17 SCI-indexed papers in journals such asScience AdvancesandEnvironmental Research, including 12 as first author and 5 as corresponding or co-author. He has led several projects including the National Natural Science Foundation of China (Youth Program), the Guangdong Basic and Applied Basic Research Fund (General Program), and various talent-focused initiatives, with a cumulative funding total of over 4.5 million RMB in the past three years.Dr. Li serves as a peer reviewer for the National Natural Science Foundation of China, a committee member of the Big Data and Mathematical Geosciences Committee, and a permanent member of the International Association for Mathematical Geosciences (IAMG). He is also a youth editorial board member forGeological Bulletin of ChinaandChina Measurement & Test, and a provincial-level expert for the Third National Soil Census.
